Michelle Kennedy, LCSW-R, is Founder and Director of Kennedy Counseling, an Upper West Side Therapy Group based in New York City. Michelle is a licensed psychotherapist with over 20 years of clinical experience. Michelle has a Master's Degree in Clinical Social Work and Post Master's Certificate in Advanced Clinical Social Work from New York University. She has additional postgraduate training and a Certificate in Substance Use Disorder, Compulsions, and Eating Disorders from the William Alanson White Psychoanalytic Institute.
Michelle provides insight oriented, relational psychotherapy and employs behavioral interventions such as CBT and DBT to help adults, teens, and children meet their highest potential and free themselves from emotional disregulation. A primary focus is relief from depression and anxiety while increasing self-esteem and pleasure along with stability in personal relationships. Michelle empowers her patients to make the needed changes in their lives and provides the safe space and emotionally healing environment essential for growth.
Currently Michelle teaches as a guest lecturer at the William Alanson White Psychoanalytic Institute.
